Traveling tips for Australia and New Zealand can be but peculiar, matching the uniqueness of the places you are going to visit!

1. Drive on the left-land lane
If you are in the driver seat and the middle of the street is on your left, then you are driving the wrong way! Australia and New Zealand still have in place the British way of driving on the left -hand lane.

2. Don’t hitch-hike
If you don’t drive, find any other means of traveling, such as bus, train, plane; all except hitch – hiking. Be careful, it is forbidden, even illegal to hitch – hike.

3. Dress accordingly
Dress accordingly to the season and region you are visiting. Wear waterproof coat if visiting New Zealand during “cold” season. Wear thick soled and long boots when walking around the Australian bush and high grass.

4. Beware of weather and animals
Dressing properly will help protect yourself from the whims of nature and most importantly, from the whims of animals. Australia is known for its biting and poisonous creatures, which include crocodiles, snakes, spiders and sharks. Watch your step and respect warning signs!

5. Winter is summer
The seasons are reversed as compared to what you may be used to. You can swim form November to April and sky in New Zealand in July and August. During “summer” always use sun block lotion; otherwise you may easily get sunstroke.

6. Carry water
An extremely important piece of advice is to always have enough water with you and drink it in order to prevent dehydration. Plan you water supply according to the time and distances you will travel: an hour should equal a liter of water.

7. Save some money
You are required to have a visa to go to Australia and New Zealand. There nothing strange about this. Still, do not spend all your money while visiting, as you will also have to pay a 30 Australian dollars tax when leaving Australia, and a 25 New Zealand dollars one when departing New Zealand.
