I’ve been looking around for a while, trying to find lessons in or around my area to learn Japanese. I’ll be visiting Japan a year from now as a foreign exchange student, and would like to learn as much as possible. Unfortounately, I can’t seem to find any available lessons in or around my area. Any suggestions?

If you can’t find beginning lessons at a local university or though a private tutor (or don’t want to pay for either option), I can highly recommend the Rosetta Stone company’s computer-based approach. It’s really very, very good. You *will* learn the language.
