Hi guys, i amconfused! Well, u see i am going to school and have German as a subject but it is not compulsory in the sense that, i could get a merit for it coz i have another language (mothertongue). I love German though and i lived in Germany for a year where i learnt German and i still can express myself and understand most of it but not all…so in a way it is a refresher course for me but the PROBLEM IS THAT, the teacher is a dane and she is teaching german in danish which means the only time we speak german is when we read the sentences in the exercises…otherwise we speak danish all the time in the German class and she speaks danish all the time..explains everything in danish…and the worst thing is that the class is mixed i.e beginners, intermediate n those who’ve never had german b4….wanna stop n wanna continue…but can’t decide..the counsellor said that it will look good on my papers but that’s not what it is all about…i am not even sure i’ll use it after i clear!

  1. If you love German, why not continue? The teacher’s Danish is not going to harm your German, and she is probably speaking so much Danish because she has beginners in the class.

Get a book in German and ask the teacher if it would be okay for you to read it while she is speaking to the beginners.

Also get a penpal in Germany or write in German to one of your old friends from Germany.

If you have the basics, you can do a lot for yourself!
