I want to learn a new language and I want the best online course to help me. The course should teach me how to speak fluently not just a couple of phrases and I also want to be able to learn while using my iPod. I haven’t decided which language to choose yet, but it’s going to be French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Romanian. Which is the best?

I notice your choice of languages are the so called romantic languages, so any of those will be a good choice. As for which is best, well that’s up to you, which do you prefer?  Spanish is the most popular language to learn and I wouldn’t say that any one language is easier than another.

I suggest you make a choice and then maybe move on to another language when you have completed the course. Your language choices are all very similar and all evolved from the old Latin and in fact the word “Romantic” from romantic languages means to speak in Roman. Of course over the centuries these languages have developed in to languages in their own right, but you will still find similarities.
