I don’t know Connecticut at all (have only been there twice), but maybe you can find a private teacher. Maybe you can hit the Net and find a native German speaker who you can pay under the table for lessons and/or conversation.

You could also place an ad in the classifieds to look for someone to teach you. Or maybe put up a notice on the local college bulletin board. It’s worth a try.
