However, knowing how to speak a language is not enough. You need 'training'. That is, a college degree. Why? You need to learn how the language works, how students learn, methodology, psychology, didactics, phonetics, grammar, linguistics, sociolinguistics, well, I can't remember all the subjects I had to take. I guess I should go through all the paper work I have. When I entered College I wondered why and what for I needed to study all that. Believe me, it was only after graduating and starting to work that I started to value all the knowledge acquired. Well, I'm going to stop here because what I really wanted to say is that to teach you need education and formal training. Those skills are absolutely essential if you want to become a Teacher. (Notice the capital letters!!!) I love teaching and I wouldn’t change it for anything else in the world.
